Trinity welcomes new board member
In June, Trinity’s association members voted Rev Canon Mike Duff its newest Board of Trustees member. Mike is vicar of St Jude’s in Southsea. He completed the BA and MA at Trinity and, following his curacy, moved to Indonesia with CMS where he was responsible for national theological training.
Mike now leads a lively congregation with a strong children’s ministry. They have planted a new congregation nearby and are in conversations about becoming a Resource Church. He is associate area dean in Portsmouth Diocese and serves on the Diocesan Synod and Bishop’s Council—contributing especially to Portsmouth’s strategy for church planting and growth. Beyond the diocese, he has been area advisor for Alpha and taken responsibility for developing ecumenical relationships across Portsmouth and their link diocese in Ghana.
‘I passionately believe in the local church as God’s place of healing and salvation,’ he says. ‘I’m interested in creative expressions of outreach and discipleship, with experience of the world-wide church and the principles of cross-cultural mission applied to fresh-expression. I’m so grateful for the foundation Trinity has given me, and long to see new leaders raised up to strengthen the Anglican Church for today’s opportunities and challenges. I am looking forward to the next step, and being able to give something back to Trinity.’
