COVID-19 update (Mar 2021)
Our response to the change in national lockdown measures announced recently.
Government guidelines show, very little has changed and we are mostly continuing to follow the same measures at college as before (essential access for private studies and library collection only). Sadly the practical courses measure does not apply to us; I appreciate there has been some confusion around this one but the government uses this term for a very specific list of subjects and ours are not covered.
However, the good news is that these rules do allow for you to meet one person of another household outside at a distance of 2m for recreation. We have now taken the decision that you can use the outdoor spaces at college for these paired meet-ups and ask that you observe the following:
- Outdoor meetings only (no social interactions indoors)
- 2 people only, at 2m apart
- Please maintain a very generous distance from any other pairs and do not interact with them (no larger gatherings formed of more than one pair)
- The fenced-off Carter garden is for residents only and remains off-limits to anyone outside that household. (This does not refer to the green space and picnic benches outside the badgers pouch, which can be used.)
All being well, the rules will relax further on 29 March, at which point we will post another update.
