What should I apply for?

We understand that the lists of programmes and modes of study can be bewildering, so we’ll try to make the process of figuring out the right course for you as easy as possible. All of our courses can be studied on a full- or part-time basis, and either as a residential student here in Bristol, or as a dispersed (distance) learner.
If you need any help or advice with this, don’t hesitate to contact us at admissions@trinitycollegebristol.ac.uk.

Ordination training or independent study?

The first question we will want to ask you is whether you are intending to train for ordination in the Church of England. If you are, there is a discernment process which every potential ordinand must go through (and which you may already be undergoing). If you are seeking to become ordained but have not begun the process of discernment, your first step should be to speak to one of the discernment advisors in your diocese.

If you have started the discernment process, you should look at our Ordination Training section.

If you are not planning to be ordained in the Church of England but wish to study theology with superb, accessible teaching of the highest quality, you should look at our Independent Study section.
